Lori’s Early Life & Bio

Greiner was born on the 9th of December in beautiful, green Illinois. Lori luckily had quite a good life whilst growing up.

She is the second child in her family and does have siblings, but unfortunately, the internet is very quiet about this part of her life, and we couldn’t find more information about the rest of her family.

She came from a well off family; her mom was a psychologist, and her dad was in real estate. Sadly though, her parents got divorced when she was only nine years old. Having a mom as a psychologist must have helped with hard emotions because this never stopped her from becoming a financial success.

She grew up in Chicago, and this was also where she went to University. Whist at Uni she worked for the Chicago Tribune, as she loved journalism. Greiner also wrote some plays during her university days.

Where and What Did She Study?

As mentioned above, she studied in Chicago at Loyola University.

She majored in Communications, which served her well through her life, as it helped her develop lasting skills for future business endeavours.

As mentioned above, she also focused on journalism, film, TV production and even dabbled in activism whilst at varsity.

How Did Lori Begin Her Career?

This is what you have been waiting for! How did this “warm-blooded Shark” make her millions? The best part about reading about someone else’s success is that it gives us the tools, or inspiration that we might need to create our own wealth.

The way Greiner started out was with something that she was passionate about. She started by selling jewellery during university, and this led her to create the Jewellery Box. She had to borrow some money initially to get her idea off the ground, but this wasn’t an issue because she was able to pay off $300 000 within 18 months, due to the growth of her business.

Unexpectedly her ideas were appreciated, and JC Penney, an American department store, bought her first Jewellery Box prototype. Her jewellery box held a plastic organiser for earrings, and it was able to store 100 pairs! She patented her idea and had no clue how well her newly made business would do.

Due to earring sales, her net worth had increased dramatically within two years; This might seem like a long time, but remember that most businesses take on average between 3 and 5 years to make a profit. Therefore this was a significant achievement!

She has now patented many ideas and has invented things ranging from household items, jewellery storage, and cosmetic organisers.

Greiner then expanded her business by showcasing her inventions on The Home Shopping Network and then to QVCtv. She also launched a show called Clever and Unique Creations in 2000.
