Who Is The Owner?
Rosa Li, CEO, and founder of Wildwonder, graduated with her MBA master’s degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Wildwonder was created in 2018; however, it was only officially launched in 2020. Unfortunately, the sales were significantly affected due to the pandemic and only picked up again after a complete rebrand in 2021.
Li worked hard to gain a social media presence for her company and get the beverages known out there. In September of 2021, Rosa managed to raise a whopping $2.1 million in funding – helping her take the company nationwide.
What Happened During The Pitch?
Rosa Li entered the tank seeing an investment of $500,000 for 5% equity of her business.
Li started the pitch by explaining her background and how she grew up learning from her grandmother how food can be used as medicine.
Rosa went on to review the finances of the company. In the first three months of the brand’s launch, the beverages were available in over 200 stores, and as of 2022, the total revenue was $1.4 million, with the hopes to go up by an additional $1 million that year.
Kevin didn’t like the small 5% equity, and Lori believed Li was in too big of a market, so they both were out. Although Mark Cuban loved the Strawberry Passion flavored beverage, she also pulled out.
Barbara Corcoran mentioned she had little success with the beverage businesses she’s invested in, so she pulled out.
The only shark left was Tony Xu, who went in and offered Li $500K for 9% equity. Brave Rosa Li went in with a counteroffer of $500K for 6% equity, to which he agreed!
The Investment
Rosa Li requested a $500,000 investment for only 5% equity.
All the sharks pulled out except for Tony Xu, who came to a mutual agreement with Li and offered $500K for 6% equity.
Conclusion
Rosa Li focuses on growing her brand for the year ahead alongside her new business partner, Tony Xu.
