WordPress Vs GroovePages – What’s The Better Platform For Marketers

It might not be entirely fair to compare these two Digital Platforms in a head to head manner as they are both slightly different in nature.

WordPress is an open source content management system that gives you complete and 100% control of your website and it’s files and Groove Pages is a landing page building software allows you to create and host a site easily from the growing number of templates on the platform. It allows uses functionality from all the Apps of Groove Funnels to become a leading all in one Marketing Solution.

Who Is WordPress For

WordPress is for very large sites and for big companies who need to have complete control of their internet assets through brochure sites with contact forms, online bookings and large amounts of content.

Since you actually own and host the content yourself, it can never be lost or damaged, you literally have to code for every page.

WordPress is not like a Ferrari, but more like a BMW or High Performance SUV – It can do anything you want it to.

Groove Funnels

Groove Funnels is for landing pages that convert at high rates and also for brochure sites.

It has got everything you need to build and rank high quality sites.

With the extra suite of tools, you can accomplish any marketing task with Groove Pages but you don’t actually fully own the content.

Groove Funnels is a Ferrari type platform for slick marketers who know how to make money online.

Open Source Vs Closed Source

WordPress Is Open Source

With WordPress, you have complete control over every aspect of the website as it is open source.

That means you can see every line of code that makes your website run and keep a copy of the site on your hard drive for safe keeping.

WordPress is a popular choice for large websites and important sites because of the complete control that it gives you.

Groove Pages Is Closed Source

Groove Pages is a drag and drop builder that allows you to create beautiful pages and websites in minutes where they would take much longer in WordPress.

Groove Pages is a proprietary system that doesn’t allow you to own the files or to look at the code that makes your website work.

With that being said, it is closed source and GroovePages and is most suitable for making marketing funnels and brochure sites.

Open Source is always going to be a better option for large websites and for big companies. With WordPress you will own your site forever, but if Groove Pages went out of business, your sites would be gone, not that they are going to go out of business.

Hosting Requirements

Because WordPress is a free and Open Source Platform, you will need to arrange for your own hosting.

Blacknight, Bluehost & Hostgator are all good companies that will allow to host your sites and beam them out to the internet anytime somebody visits your site.

Hosting is the server that stores you site and displays it to the internet, when somebody visits your website.

Groove Pages will hold all of your Funnels and Websites on their own servers which will save you the cost of paying for hosting.

If you want to use a custom domain, you will need to set it up through Cloudfare, you can see a tutorial on how to do that here:

What’s Easier To Use

GroovePages is going to be much easier to use for the beginner, you just log in, select a template from the growing library and your website or landing page is almost already done.

WordPress does have PageBuilding plugins that you can use as well but it is going to take a lot more work to get you to that point.

Some of the best PageBuilder plugins for WordPress include:

  • Elementor
  • WP Bakery

To get to this part, you will need to install a theme for your website, either premium(paid) or free and sort out your hosting.

WordPress websites and more robust and better built but GroovePages is a lot more beginner friendly, fast and easy to use.

What Makes Better Looking Websites

Both platforms can make equally good looking websites.

WordPress comes with premium themes that you can get from somewhere like Theme Forest and GroovePages comes with Templates that you can load up for any page on your website.

Groovepages 1.0 was built using the Bootstrap framework, but that was scrapped before Groove Funnels went live and now Groove Pages 2.0 has the best drag and drop page builder on the market.

Additional Features

Both WordPress and Groovepages allow you to inject code into your websites for integrations with other platforms and for using your Google Analytics, Pixels and tracking codes.

WordPress Uses Plugins

You can get all of the additional Features you need for WordPress with Plugins.

There is plugins for everything:

  • Making Your Site Secure,
  • Adding Booking Calendars,

Pretty much everything you can think of.

WordPress Vs Groove Pages – Costs

WordPress prides itself on being a completely free option, with no costs to use the platform.

With that being said, there are a number of additional costs you will need to take into consideration including:

  • Cost of the domain – Approx $10
  • Hosting – Approx $300 Per Year
  • Development costs – Depends
  • Premium Plugins – Depends

Groove Pages also has a completely free lifetime offering but you only get to build three sites for this.

Once you start making money with Groove Pages, you can upgrade to the one time lifetime fee of $1,400 and get full unfettered access to ever app that exists now or that they ever bring out in the future.

It’s a pretty amazing and unmatched deal in the industry right now.

You can find out more about it here:

My Personal Preferences

I use both WordPress and GroovePages. I signed up for the Groove Funnels Lifetime deal and haven’t looked back.

If I want to stay a big website, like a blog, it is crucial that I have full control over all aspects and that is why I go with WordPress.

If I am making a site for a big business, I go with WordPress, it is tried and tested and will never let you down.

If I want to sell an online product, a course, or set up a lead magnet, I will send the traffic from my WordPress blog over to a funnel made in Groove Pages because it has so much functionality and it purposely built to do everything a marketer needs.

If I am running paid ads, I will go straight to my funnels built on Groove Pages.

You can see an example of my Blogging E-book Funnel Here:

Going forward, since I have the GrooveFunnels full package, I will also be making my small brochure sites using Groove.

WordPress Vs Groove – Ecommerce

WordPress relies on the excellent WooCommerce Functionality to allow you to sell your goods and services online.

WordPress also hooks with almost every external app that allows you to sell goods like Printful and Printify.

You can even dropship from China with another Plugin called Oberlo.

Wocommerce is probably the cheapest way to sell goods online but it is now facing competition from Groove also.

If you want to sell a single product on your website in Groove Pages, you can use GrooveSell.

This will allow to set up the product with a one time payment, recurring payments or installments and there are a number of payment options available including Stripe, Paypal and now GroovePay.

You just set up the product and embed the checkout on your GroovePage or as a separate scheckout page.

If you want to set up an E-Commerce store, GrooveKart is a direct competitor for Shopify and WooCommerce.

It can connect to large platforms like Printful to sell your goods online but it must be remembered that it is still in its infancy and should be adding more and more features and templates as time goes on.

GroovePages E-commerce store can made cheaply and inexpensively once you are signed up for pro while WordPress will take a premium theme, plugins and a lot of development to build a large store online.

Value For Money

The more you use GroovePages, the more value you will get and the more features you use, the more value you can avail of also.

If you are running an agency or building a lot of small sites, Groove is going to be an excellent option.

You can build amazing sites in a really short period of time.

WordPress is going to be a lot cheaper for one or two sites but as you build more and more sites and need more and more marketing solutions, the costs are going to quickly add up.

WordPress Vs Groove Pages – History

WordPress has been around for a long time, first surfacing in 2003 as a collaboration between Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little.

It is currently used on 60% of all Websites in the world.

Groove Funnels Is A Brand new Marketing Solution from a heavyweight in the Internet marketing game, Mike Filsaime.

Mike Filsaime is the second man to ever make $1 million in one day with a digital product, butterfly marketing.

He thought Russell Brunson of ClickFunnels everything he knows and even helped Russel to promote it.

ClickFunnels is built using old software and while it is profitable for existing customers, ClickFunnels cannot compete with Kartra or GrooveFunnels going forward.

Mike founded Kartra too, it is built using the slightly outdated Bootstrap system while Groove Page is at the the absolute apex of the market in terms of layouts and performance.

It is faster and less buggy than Karta and definitely Click Funnels.
